How to be Happy!

Hey everyonee!

This week I have decided to do a guide on how to be happy. As teenagers you obviously go through a lot of changes and your hormone levels are quite unbalanced which can lead to moodiness and can leave you feeling quite down a lot of the time. Throughout the past few weeks I have been trying these out and I really think they will work for a lot of people here so without further a do...

1. Don't listen to what other people say about you

Of course its wrong in the first place for other people to talk about you behind your back, however if you take it and get upset about it then that's what they want! Don't listen to stupid people's comments because they aren't worth wasting time for! Remember that you are an individual and you shouldn't have to change for other peoples happiness! You be at your happiness, not theirs. Make your own decisions in life because you are in control...

2. Smile

Smiling is the key to happiness! Whether your happy or not your mood it elevated! Smiling is like a feedback loop: it reinforces happiness giving off happy vibes to other people, making their day better too! Don't fake smile though; that's not the way to do it, smile with feeling and smiley-ness. Don't smile with fear and hidden secrets!

3. Be Optimistic

Add up all the little joyful things that happen to you during the day. For example, your friend said something uproariously *fancy big word haha* funny that made you laugh etc. All of the matters added together account to one big chunk of happiness.

4. Treat your body right

Treat your body like it deserves to be happy! Everyone always says this but it really is important *they also say that too haha!* Your brain isn't the only organ in your body that deserves to be happy and researches have found that exercise, healthy diets, and regular sleep are key factors in growing more happy and staying that way!

5. Meditation / Relaxation

Personally I recommend if you get lots of homework or you have a lot on your mind, just crash on your bed, take some deep breaths and forget the world! Just forget everything for a while, forget you even exist, just for the 5-20 minutes you relax. It can really change the way you approach things for the rest of the day!

6. Be organised

I tend to feel less stressed out and annoyed at everything (when I'm having one of those days) when my room is all tidy, and I can find everything I need, when I need it. Tidy your room, organise your bag and take a moment to relax. Everybody loves a tidy room!

7. Have a laugh

This links to smiling, however don't just sit there sulking, if someone makes a joke laugh! It (like smiling) will boost your happiness levels and make that other person feel great knowing they made someone laugh!

8. Be compassionate

Compassion is all about doing something kind for someone in need, or someone less privileged than yourself. Research shows that people gain as much happiness from watching others give to charity as they do receiving the money themselves which seems quite odd! Anything you can do for anyone will be recognised and appreciated and will even lift your mood and make you feel good about yourself!

9. Forgive
Forgiving others has been proven to contribute to your overall health and happiness! So throw away that grudge you've been holding! It will make life better for you AND the person you forgave!

Thank you for reading guys & I really hope these tips work for you all
